Kid Photo Safety Check
A calm, private pre-posting check for family photos: hidden location data, visible clues, and a parent-friendly checklist — all on your device.
100% private — analyzed in memory only, never uploadedCheck a photo before you share it
No judgment here — just a quick, caring look at what a photo reveals before it goes online. Your photo is analyzed in memory only and never leaves your device.
Add a photo to begin
About to post that birthday or first-day-of-school pic? Give it a 30-second safety once-over first.
How it works
Add the photo
Drop in the picture you're thinking of posting. It's read into your browser's memory only — never uploaded, stored, or sent anywhere.
See hidden + visible clues
The tool checks the photo's metadata for embedded GPS location, notes the date and device, and counts visible faces — then lists the visual details worth a second look.
Walk the checklist
Tick through six gentle parent-focused checks. You get a clear summary — and a one-tap location-free copy if the photo carries GPS data.
A note for parents, from one careful corner of the internet
Sharing family photos is one of the joys of the internet — this tool exists to keep it joyful, not to scare you off posting. Most risks in a child's photo are easy to miss simply because you're looking at the smile, not the background. A school logo on a sweater, a house number behind the birthday candles, a street sign at the park: small details that tell strangers more than you intended.
The biggest invisible one is location metadata. When your phone's camera has location access, every photo is quietly stamped with GPS coordinates — often accurate to a few meters. Social apps usually strip this when you post, but the original file keeps it, and anyone you send the original to (a group chat, an email) can read exactly where it was taken: home, school, the playground.
The fix is wonderfully boring: check before you post, strip location when it matters, and turn off location access for your camera app. Thirty seconds here, peace of mind after.
One item on the safety checklist deserves its own tool: if a photo carries a school logo, a name badge or any other identifying mark, the Watermark Cover Tool covers that region before the picture is shared.
The checklist flags faces as the first thing to protect — the Face Blur tool does that job directly, blurring faces in a photo before it is posted.
Checking a photo before it is posted is one side of family media safety; the produced side matters too. If the photo becomes a video, the Subtitle Burner handles captions in the browser, and the Voice-Over Ducking Mixer keeps narration clear of the music — all local, nothing uploaded.
