How it works

1

Add your photo

Drop in the image with the watermark — your own photo, draft or mockup. It stays on your device the whole time.

2

Paint over the mark

Choose blur for busy backgrounds, pixelate for small marks, or clone-stamp for the cleanest result: Alt-click (Option-click) a clean area to sample it, then paint over the watermark.

3

Download

Export a clean PNG at full resolution. Undo anytime, reset to start over — unlimited tries.

How to Cover a Watermark

Open your photo — full original resolution is preserved. Pick one of three methods: blur for a quick soft cover, pixelate for a chunky mosaic, or clone-stamp for the cleanest result. Paint over the watermark or unwanted object, zoom to 100% to check your work, and download the PNG at full size. Large photos are edited at up to 3000 px on the long edge for smooth brushing, then exported at full resolution.

How Clone-Stamp Works

Clone-stamp is the retoucher’s classic tool. Hold Alt (Option on Mac) and click a clean patch of similar texture — sky, wall, grass, skin — to sample it. Then paint over the mark: the sampled pixels are stamped down where you brush, borrowing the surrounding texture so the watermark melts into the background. It shines on plain, even areas — a clear sky or a studio backdrop can be repaired invisibly. On busy, high-detail textures, expect a soft patch; professionals handle that by sampling from several nearby spots and working at high zoom.

Worked Example

A photographer has a 6000 × 4000 px landscape with her camera app’s date stamp in the bottom-right corner, sitting over a fairly plain stretch of sand. She loads the photo, selects clone-stamp, Alt-clicks a clean patch of sand just left of the stamp, and paints over the digits in short strokes, re-sampling every few strokes to follow the sand’s grain. At 100% zoom the repair is invisible. She downloads the full-resolution PNG — no recompression artifacts, no size reduction.

Limitations

This tool covers marks on photos you own or have rights to — your own shots with camera-app watermarks, your drafts, licensed stock. It cannot credibly rebuild complex detail: a watermark over a person’s face, fine text, or intricate patterns will leave a visible soft patch no matter the technique. And no editor can restore what was never there — if the watermark destroyed the underlying pixels, the goal is a clean cover, not a perfect reconstruction.

Covering is a family of tools on this shelf: where this one paints over a mark or logo, the Face Blur tool anonymises the people in the frame before you publish.

Frequently asked questions

On images you own or have rights to — absolutely. That covers your own photos with camera-app watermarks, your drafts, and licensed stock. Stripping someone else's watermark to use their work unpaid is copyright infringement, and this tool isn't for that.
Hold Alt (Option on Mac) and click a clean patch of similar texture — sky, wall, grass — to sample it. Then paint over the watermark: the sampled pixels are stamped down, blending the mark away. It works best on plain, even backgrounds.
The top-ranked one gives you one image per month free, then charges; others are ad farms or upload your photo. The honest truth is their "AI" often just smudges. Here you control the result with professional retouching techniques — unlimited and private.
On simple backgrounds, clone-stamp can be nearly invisible. On complex textures, expect a soft patch. Zoom to 100% and inspect before downloading — that's what professionals do too.
Full original resolution, PNG format. Large photos are edited at up to 3000 px on the long edge for smooth brushing, then exported at full size.
Blur softens the mark into the background — fast but obvious on close inspection. Pixelate breaks it into chunky blocks — good for a stylized look. Clone-stamp borrows nearby texture to actually rebuild the area — slowest, but the only method that can look invisible on plain backgrounds.
Yes, if the surrounding texture is simple — sky, walls, and out-of-focus areas all repair well. Dead-center marks over faces, text, or detailed subjects are much harder; expect a soft patch rather than a miracle.
Yes. Screenshots are just images — paint over the watermark the same way. For moving watermarks on video, though, you need a video editor; this tool handles still images only.
